In 2025, Instituto Tecendo Infâncias began supporting the Center for the Study of Public Policies (Núcleo de Estudos de Políticas Públicas – NEPP) at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) through an initiative dedicated to producing applied knowledge in early childhood.

A recognized reference in the academic field, NEPP conducts research, evaluation, and policy design in Brazil, combining rigorous academic inquiry with ongoing dialogue with public sector leaders. Its trajectory, acknowledged both nationally and internationally, includes significant contributions in strategic areas such as health, education, and reducing social inequalities.

The research project aims to identify and analyze intersectoral initiatives, understand how these initiatives assess their effectiveness, and, based on this analysis, develop a guidance document for public-sector leaders and professionals involved in the design and implementation of public policies.

The initiative also includes a strategic partnership with the Observatory on Childhood and Adolescence (Observatório da Infância e Adolescência – OiA) at UNICAMP, which plays a central role in research, data analysis, and engagement with public policies focused on children.

As its primary output, the project will produce a guidance document bringing together quantitative and qualitative indicators to support the monitoring and evaluation of intersectoral policies and programs focused on early childhood and their families.

The Institute’s support provides financial and strategic resources to strengthen UNICAMP’s teaching, outreach, and research methodologies, while also reinforcing interdisciplinary study groups and practices focused on intersectoral collaboration. The initiative further engages students, faculty, and public sector professionals through training activities, seminars, and awareness-building events.

By supporting one of the country’s leading universities, the Institute demonstrates its belief in bridging science and practice, fostering the development of future academic leaders, and promoting innovation in the field of early childhood.

The research findings will be published in the second half of 2026, contributing to public debate and to the advancement of evidence-informed public policies.
