In 2025, the Aldeia Esperança Residents’ Association, representing the Indigenous community in the Arapiuns River region in Santarém, Pará, organized “Children’s Day at Aldeia Esperança” with the support of Instituto Tecendo Infâncias. More than a celebration, the event was a cultural gathering organized by the community itself and bringing together children, families, and community leaders for a moment of togetherness, play, and shared experiences. Neighboring villages and communities were also invited to join the festivities.

The Institute provided financial support to enable the community to organize the entire program autonomously, honoring its culture and traditional caregiving practices. The initiative also mobilized children, families, and the local community around the right to play and the recognition of Indigenous childhoods, contributing to greater visibility and recognition of Indigenous communities.

The Institute also supported the documentation of the experience through photographs and videos, in full respect of cultural protocols, and by sharing learnings with other partner organizations, fostering reflection on the role of community actions in strengthening bonds and a sense of belonging.
