2024–2025
In 2025, Instituto Horsoul Alma Equestre, an initiative based in Itu, São Paulo state, strengthened its institutional structure with the support of Instituto Tecendo Infâncias. The organization is dedicated to promoting equine-assisted therapy as an integrative therapeutic approach. It was founded to support the physical, emotional, and social development of children with disabilities, fostering children’s connection with horses and nature while reinforcing family and community bonds.
The Institute’s support contributed to Horsoul’s legal formalization, regulatory compliance, and improved management processes, creating favorable conditions for the initiative’s sustainability and future expansion. At the same time, the project helped raise awareness within the community by highlighting equine-assisted therapy as a child-centered therapeutic practice integrated with the natural environment, emphasizing its importance for early childhood development.
The results achieved were documented through evidence of children’s physical, emotional, and social progress, as well as the systematization of knowledge and learning shared with families and healthcare professionals. The initiative reinforces the importance of nature-based therapeutic practices and demonstrates how investments in organizational capacity can strengthen institutional sustainability.
“My daughter, Laís, has autism and Rett syndrome, and when we arrived here, she couldn’t walk. Today I live and work at Horsoul, and I have witnessed her development firsthand. Now she is already walking, and it’s all joy. It feels like the horse senses exactly what the child needs. All the horses here are adapted and trained to work with children with disabilities. I recommend equine-assisted therapy to everyone!

“I am Lavínia’s mother. She has a rare condition called Coffin-Siris Syndrome (SCS), and she is also autistic. She has been doing equine-assisted therapy since she was two and a half years old. When she arrived at Horsoul, she couldn’t run and had difficulty with balance when walking. Here, she began to develop her balance, started running, and today she is doing well. Equine-assisted therapy is essential for her.”
