This project aims to promote the health and social participation of children with physical disabilities living in socioeconomically vulnerable contexts in Belo Horizonte (MG) and surrounding areas. Its focus is to foster autonomy and functionality, taking into account the different contexts that shape biopsychosocial development in early childhood.
Main actions:
● Interdisciplinary care and networking.
● Engagement of parents and caregivers in educational activities.
● Provision of therapeutic equipment.
● Inclusion and community participation activities.
The project serves around 350 people in total, including the 63 children already supported by AMR, while also addressing the current waiting list, which includes 53 children aged 0 to 6 and their families.
The Associação Mineira de Reabilitação is a nonprofit organization that has been working for 60 years in interdisciplinary neuromotor rehabilitation and the social inclusion of children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 with physical disabilities in vulnerable situations. Guided by the motto “Rehabilitate to transform lives”, AMR adopts a holistic approach to health, centered on families and on strengthening functionality, quality of life, and full inclusion of people with disabilities.
